Subject: beginner IP: Logged
Message: my son has just turned 14 and tells me ~~he wants to go in a triathalon in march.Please tell me what he has to do to get ready for this~~is there a site that will give beginners information.I want him to be half way ready if he wants to try this!

First, what type of athletics is your son currently doing? What distance event is he planning to do? How physically fit is he? All of these factors will determine whether he can be ready by march. There are a number of web sites that help beginners, I believe www.trinewbies.com is a good place to start. If you or your son have any questions, feel free to drop me a line, and remember there are NO stupid questions, on people too stupid to ask questions. Good luck with your search and wish your son a great race for me.

Message: A great local site and club is www.houstonracing.com I recently just "dove" into triathlons. They have been a great group for help and support.
