Message: Where was all the Hoopla this year? I ran the Houston Marathon for the 5th year in a row and noticed a big difference in how quiet the course was. At mile 5 (approx.) the Jeff Davis High School band, did an excellent job of getting the runners pumped up. It made me wonder why there are not more bands out on the course. I am sure that if asked, many would be happy to turn out. I'd also like to say thank you to the man who brought out his brass bed and night stand near mile 7 to support us. Dressed in his robe and fluffy slippers, sipping on coffee, while laying in the bed and holding a sign reading "Good Morning Houston" really made me laugh. There was supposed to be some 20 radio stations on the course, and if there were, only about 3 of them played music when I ran by. The Beatles - Ticket To Ride at mile 24 gave me a needed lift! Thanks to those that did come out, and where was the rest of everyone else?
