Message: Why are so many people complaining about the Houston Marathon this year?? Most of it is so petty, especially about the race pictures. I am just guessing that if you are looking at this web site, and responding on this message board, you have most likely run several races, and there is a good chance you have run several marathons. Complaining about something as petty as race photos, when you probably have dozens of photos of you running a marathon, i think you need to get your priorities in order.
If you don't like the photos that company took of you, it is very simple, JUST DON'T ORDER THEM!! I am sure you probably have many, many more photos of yourself you can look at around your house and at work.

Message: Talking about things that concern the marathon on this site such as photos may seem petty to you(I suspect you're a Marathonfoto employee who took some of the crappy shots),but its in this type of venue which helps make the marathon a better one for all runners. For many runners it was their first and perhaps only marathon.Asking for a decent photo to remember that event is not asking too much nor petty. While this site has many constructive comments relating to the marathon,Mr.Cobb doesn't make comments about the marathon itself, just about others comments.Your complaining about others complaining.Talk about petty--that's petty!

Message: Larry, perfect response. I have my money on Cobb being a marathonfoto employee. Brightroom is so far superior, and i don't work for either. I ran both Compaq marathon in January and Austin 1/2 this past weekend, and seeing how a race should be run in every aspect makes compaq marathon a major embarrassment. You would think after 30 years,Steve would know what runners expect, they failed in every respect in my books not just technology, no postcard, no food, terrible photos, not enough porta cans, not enough police protection, and on and on. I think it is time for some new leadership, let's steal them from Austin. No wonder we can't attract prize money, Houston's race is a joke, and next year should be tougher with the state of our economy. Steve and David need to see how Austin is run.

Message: I completely agree what the "Runner6"
said in the last message. The Houston
Marathon went from being a top 10
marathon in the nation in the 90s to a marathon that is no longer listed in Runner's World's top 30 marathon in the US (Austin and even Dallas White Rock made the top 30).
As 'Runner6" pointed, we need new leadership and new people with new ideas. Moreover, I believe Houston being a cosmopolitan city with a lot of international connections we need an International Marathon: why
do the other three big US cities New York, LA, and Chicago have marathons that are known all over the world and we
don't?

Message: I think that the Austin Marathon is a great race, but I think that the Runner's World rankings may have something to do with the amount of advertising purchased by the marathons.
