Message: Many people would have liked to know what his symptoms in his last few months were. And reasons why they could not be reversed. Since he was an athelete, it probably took some time ---rather than overnight. You will be in my prayers.

Message: I consider Greg one of a very few friends I had during my military career. Was very surprised when he came to me in 1976 or therabouts desiring to run with me because he was so big to be running the kind of distances some of us were putting in at that time.
Needless to say, I found out just how dedicated and tough he was because he handled the longer distances with ease.
I got to visit with Greg a short time before his death and must say I miss him and speak of him often. I coach a number of youngsters in cross country and track and field and the Greg Losey story is one I share with each and everyone.
I'm not sure of Becky ever checks this site but if she does and will provide me her e-mail, the wife (Sharon) and I would love to take her out to dinner when we visit San Antonio which we will frequently. Our Daughter and Family plan to make San Antonio home after retirement.

Message: I am Becky Losey's cousin and PLEASE don't forget Becky and Brittany who are living without Greg. Becky is an amazing woman and Brittany is growing into a wonderful young woman. Greg is sorely missed by so many, but his spirit lives on in his family left behind. Never forget them. Someday Brittany may just be standing on Olympic soil just like her Dad.

Message: Growing up with Greg as my older brother was a great privilege. We played sports together all through school. When we were kids it was Greg's idea to build a mini sports arena in a flat area next to our home. In the area we put a long jump pit, high jump pit, shot put area, etc. From the time Greg was little he loved the thrill of competition. I returned recently to our high school where Greg still holds some sports records after 35+ years. I miss him, but felt very blessed when, shortly before his death, he asked me to officiate at his funeral service. It was such a blessing to our family to have so many of his friends show up and pay their last respects.

Message: We met Greg shortly before his passing when my wife and I went to San Antonio (her dad is Paul Pesthy). Greg was ill but was quite the gentleman. We were invited to his home for the 4th of July and had a great time. Hats off to a great man with a great attitude.....God Bless you Greg!
