Subject: Shirt question IP: Logged
Message: I'm taking over as race director for a road race and want to know what runners would prefer to receive as their free shirt: a short-sleeved T-shirt or a tank top?
The artwork for either shirt (race logo, etc.) will be colorful, so it will look nice either way. But I don't know which runners would prefer.
HELP!

Message: Go for the T-shirt. Not everybody can wear a tank top. But EVERYBODY can wear a T-shirt; and if one doesn't like the T-shirt one gets or finds it too big or too small, one always can give it to someone else who will be grateful!

Message: The tank top is much better. Most people who have done many races have more than enough t-shirts even after giving many away. Your race will stand out more with the tank top.

Message: I vote for the tank tops. Just because everyone else is giving out T-shirts and most of us have a closet full of them already.

Message: I agree with the tank tops. Most runners have a closet full of T-shirts but only a few races give tank tops.I really can't see a reason why anyone couldn't wear a tank top.If you want to really please the runners, get the quality kind like is given out for the 20k here in houston. It's better fabric than regular cotton,I think it is dri-fit or something, but they are nice(keepers)

Message: I don't care either way regarding the t-shirt or tank top, but PLEASE use Coolmax or DriFit shirts! I have a closet full of race t-shirts/tank tops, but won't wear them to train, since they are cotton. I think many athletes would be willing pay an additional $5 in entrance fees to cover the costs - just to have a non-cotton top!!

Message: Here's another option- give a no t-shirt option so the financially challenged can save a couple of bucks on the entry fee.

Message: I really prize those long sleeve t-shirts and would sign up merely for an opportunity to receive one. I just checked my inventory and only 2% are long sleeved.

Message: I agree with Martin. Tank tops. I also would go along with no t-shirt and a reduced entry fee as suggested. But cotton t-shirts just pile up in drawers waiting for the next garage sale.
