Message: This race is usually one of the best ones in the city. However, year after year, it's agonizing waiting around for the results, especially for the Filly results. They didn't announce them and it seems like we were forgotten. That was very disappointing. Definitely need to improve this. On a note of race etiquette, there were TOO MANY slow people at the front of the pack. Need to enforce race pace/position somehow because these people have no business up front and are hazards to those that belong up there. Is it going to take one of those folks to get hurt to get it through their thick heads? I'm obviously irritated by this.

Message: Congratulations on winning the Filly division with the very fine time of 44:20. The race results show that your gun time and chip time were identical. Unless this is some sort of electronic failure, this would indicate you began right on the starting line, right next to Sean Wade, the overall winner. About 200 people passed you along the way. I suppose "race etiquette" and "slow" and "thick heads" are all a matter of perspective.

Message: Regarding Clydesdale Results. It is a pretty complicated process verifying that the results were accurate. To do so meant that they had to be verified against a seperate list of what the runners weighed in at before the race. This takes time and although there were some initial mistakes, I'm confident that it will eventually get worked out, so can everyone have a little patience. I've spent an incredible amount of my own personal time helping out here & I'm not getting paid one cent. I'm doing it to help keep the Clydesdale movement alive. Thanks, Ken Yanowski

Message: Ken, I will help you next year if you would like my assistance. Rather than just complain, I would like to provide some help to improve this process.
For Pokey, I did not win the division. Someone that got counted in the age group by mistake took 1st, about 20 seconds faster than me. Also, there was a mistake on the gun and chip time because I did not start at the front of the line...I actually walked to the starting line because there were so many people packed in. Lastly, 'race etiquette' is not a matter of perspective but of consideration and safety. If one is going to run a 9:00 mile, he/she has no business at the front of the line with Sean Wade.

Message: In response to Pokey's comment, I think Angelina's comment about slower runners starting too close to the start line is right on target. I think she is referring to the 9-11 minute milers who get up at the front and either start extremely slow or even walk. I think it would be fine if she started very close to the front as she is a decent runner. The problem is not with people like her, but with others who you cannot even get around at race start and whose pace is so significantly slower that it really becomes a dangerous situation trying to pass them. It's not just a few people either. Literally, I have had my first mile race times slowed by 1-2 minutes because you cannot get around people.

Message: Might I suggest that race results be based upon chip time and not gun time, except for the open division top five finishers. This would remove the incentive for many to be in the front of the pack. I finished faster, by chip time, than +60 people, but they were listed ahead of me due to the use of gun time. This type of result encourages everyone with a competitive bone in his or her body to move to the front of the pack. The chip time would help some. I'm new to running but it appears to me that having slower runners in front of you is just a fact of life. If you really want a PR then go to a track or a smaller race.

Message: I agree the chip time should be used to score runners after a certain few like the top 5.I thought one of the reasons the chip came into being was to help eliminate the crush at the starting line.If you're not going to score chip time, why use it?Also I notice 95% of all the runners that fight around me at the start come back by mile one, most by the half mile mark. While attention to proper placement at the starting line is always welcomed,a lot of runners need to be educated about the benefits of even pacing.
