I was there for the huge rainstorm, and I wanted SOOOO bad to go ahead and do the tri, but I figured with the lightening and all the people driving away that the event had been cancelled. Now I discover that the swim and run went on anyway. I'm disappointed that I didn't know. I guess I'll keep in mind for future races that there are other triathletes like me who want to do it anyway. I should have known better. Well, I got a really cool (and expensive) T-shirt. Looking forward to the next one.

Hey Kelly, don't feel bad! I was there in the monsoon too, and had to bail out b/c I had to be somewhere by 10:00 and knew the delay would prevent me. I wouldn't have blamed anyone for abandoning ship that day. No one knew how long it would last and there was no shelter. I had my wife and kids w/me and luckily I told them to stay in the car and drive to the park.
