Subject: Biking & calves ? IP: Logged
Message: Call me bored if you want but I usually get good answers from this site. I realize as someone new to biking that the calve muscles are not in any way primary movers when it comes to pedaling. But I have heard comments that calves are not used at all. If this is so why do so many bikers have nicely developed calves? I mean for years I wanted to bike so I could have calves like the local guys that biked! What's up? Do they all do calf raises at home every day? or are they sprinters on the side? Thanks for your post.

Message: If calves don't have much to do during cycling, then why do I get calf cramps when I'm riding sometimes? Puzzling...
