Message: I am so frustrated about the Back To School 5k which is suppose to occur on August 17th in west Houston. We were all so excited to see a 5K in mid-August, since we had no fun runs at all between Maribel's (8/3) and The Cougar Classic (8/31). I have attempted SO MANY times to speak to a human being about this race. While I realize you can you print the entry form from the web site, there are still questions we have regarding the race. Nobody replies to e-mail message sent to the
e-mail address shown and when you call the contact phone number, no one yet has been at all familiar with anything about this race. It is now six days away from race day and I am very, very skeptical about showing up there on race day to sign up since there has been such a lack of interest from whomever the race director might be and from those who answer the contact phone number. I look so forward to 5K's on the weekends and am very disappointed to see the lack of enthusiasm and PR by the organizers of this race. Thanks for allowing me to vent.

Message: It has been a nightmare trying to find out info about the back to school 5K.
After leaving a couple of messages, someone there suggested checking out the website. Sure enough the info is all there. Sev Fisher you have a lot of explaining to do.

Message: Well the skinny is if you haven't heard that the race is CANCELLED. There was not enough registration(wonder why) so they did away with it.

Message: What a way to find out a race is cancelled: show up and no one is there. Thanks Sev, your church should stick to what it knows-BAKE SALES!!!

Message: Look maybe the guy didn't handle everything as he should have, but please don't bring a guy's church or motive into the picture. That works best for all of us.

Message: Sorry Kev, I'll explain it for you. Helping Hands Ministry was the benefactor of the race. Hence, stick with the bake sale. Runner's make sacrifices. These sacrifices should not include getting slammed race day because of someone's incompetence. A returned phone call to explain the situation would have been fine. Have a great day.....

Message: Sad thing about this situation is that, this same group will try and have another event sometime in the future and all will be forgoten!
I know the next time I notice the same group doing some sort of function, either a bake sale or a 5k road race I will think twice to buy a cup cake or run in one of there events. Sad but true..
