Message: Beautiful Course -loved the swim and the shade on the bike and run. Exceptional volunteers. I will come back, especially if you take out a few hills on the run. (hardest Half-marathon I have ever done)

Message: For my first Half-IM, I have to say the experience was a terrible one. My strong suit being the run, I fell apart @ 1.5 miles. The run course was rediculous. Some say that was the hardest run course of any around. Also, some of the front runners ran off-course @ mile 10, missing the last big hill. All in all, I thought the swim and bike were great. But from scaring away people for next year, there must be changes made to the run!!!

Message: I agree, the run run course was out of control.Swim course was great with the exception of the sun in your face for the better half of the swim, maybe swim counterclockwise instead. Bike course was great. Super Volunteers!! Change the run; run splits shouldn't be almost equivalent to swim&bike; split combined.

Message: I loved it. What a great race. Sure there were some hills both on the bike and on the run but they make you stronga nd build character. Living in Houston I really miss the hills here, especially since I grew up in Switzerland and New Mexico. Hills rock, they divide the boys from the men. My run time was slow as well and I was not happy about that, but in the long run this was a great preparation for upcoming Ironman. What was going on with the leaders? Did they cut the course? Was this penalized?

Message: I would like to thank all of you who participated in the 1st Annual 1/2 Ironman @ DeGray Lake. I have heard many comments about the run course and I appreciate the feed back. It is our goal here to make a race that is both user friendly as well as challenging. Keeping these facts in mind, I am in the process of laying out a new run course that will be more on the user friendly side.

Message: Great. We would definitely consider doing the race again if the run were different. The swim and the bike were great! There was one nice thing about the run... the beautiful panoramic view at the turn around.
