Anybody know of any good beginner triathlons coming up in the San Antonio area this Spring? I am interested in getting into the sport, but concerned about the longer distance triathlons especially the lake swims.

Shelby,
Team Alamo is putting on My First Triathlon on May 24th. It is a great race for the beginner. It is a pool swim of 200 meters. 6 miles on the bike, and a 2.3 mile run. There are 2 categories set up. One is strictly for first timers, and the other for "non" first timers. It is actually held in Boerne and will take place after the Kid's Triathlon. Visit www.teamalamo.org for more details.
