Being a non-swimmer, I am thrilled to be able to participate in duathlons and want to thank Webster Bicycle and Kevin and Jana Landry for putting on this series. I would love to see the community really support this series so it can continue!

I enjoyed it as well. I have not lived in the Houston area for a few years now and was sad to hear that BAT was disbanded.

Don't forget -- there's another top-notch duathlon in the Houston area. The Sugar Land Duathlon has been put on for a number of years now (I'm sure someone out there can tell us exactly how many -- RTN?) and always provides a great race. I've done it a number of times and it's always a blast!

I think you can register online through the RTN web site.

Thanks for the support of the sport of duathlon. The 13th Annual Sugar Land Duathlon, 2-10-2, is Sunday, 6:50am, July 27th, at the First Colony Mall. Look for our July ad in RTN. Webster Du has an ad in RTN as well. You can register online. The duathlon series in Dallas around White Rock Lake I have raced in is gone. Duathlon needs your interest.

Andy:
Which duathlon series in Dallas are you referring to? If you're talking about James Thruston's races, they're still going strong. I've done two already this year (6/1 and 6/15), and am doing another tomorrow morning, 7:30, bright and early. One in July (7/20), two in August and one in October. He did cancel the April race this year, but all the rest are going on. These are the 2-10-2s around White Rock Lake, and they still draw roughly ~100-110 people. His usual 8 races, plus Jack Weis' 3 give a pretty sound duathlon presence in the DFW Metroplex!

Cheers,
Shane

Shane, Thanks! I had looked in the multi-sport calendar in the last RTN and did not see Thruston's duathlons listed. I am glad I was mistaken. I will be back to race around White Rock Lake for 2-10-2 and others should also. It is a fun series. Take care, Andy
