Runner Triathlete News [ return ] From Message Sebastian   5/19/2003 10:07:12 Subject: Brazos Valley Triathlon Results IP: Logged Message: I sent this E-mail to Fred Phillips, the USAT-SMW board president, this morning. I just thought this info would be useful to anyone interested. Fred: I'm writing to you to ask you to please strike the Brazos Valley Triathlon results from the USAT-SMW regional rankings. This race's course markings were flawed and caused MANY athletes to ride their bikes off course that day. I was among those that went off course missing an out and back that would have added at least 12 minutes to my time. You have my time listed as the race winner which is clearly unfair to all race participants. I informed raced volunteers at the finish line that I should be disqualified, that obviously did not work. Since they were no spotters at the turns or turn arounds on the bike or the run (the only marking on the run was a spectator who had no way of controlling turn arounds) there is no way that Doug Termaine the RD could clean up these results to an acceptable level. That is why I'm asking you that you strike these results from the rankings. You may also want to check with the RD about him paying the awards and prime prizes he advertised, As I understand he has not done so yet. Best Regards, Sebastian Rodrigano USAT 155223 P 1
