Subject: 1st duathlon IP: Logged
Message: Hi,
I hope someone can give me some advice.
This will be my first duathlon (2 mi run, 10 mi
bike, 2 mi run). I've been doing some training
already. The race is July 18th in Sugar Land
TX.
I'm concerned about a few things:
1) What is suitable to wear for running/
cycling? Cycling with running shorts vs.
Running with padded cycling shorts? Neither
sound good to me ...
2) Transition time: does the time count? what
should be a good time for transitioning?
3) Transition, what to do: do I need a non-
racing partner to watch over my change of
clothes/shoes/bicycle? How do people
change? Where do people change? Where do
people usually leave their bicycles before and
after the running part?
Thanks

Message: Race date is Sunday, July 27th. Transition time does count. For this reason, competitors do not change. They wear bike shorts with small pad or no pad. Transition area is coned off. This is where your bike is placed before and after. Have a good time. We will have 100+ first-timers, so you will not be alone.

Message: Yea, July 27th is the correct date. Thanks!
So in the transition area, do we just leave our
bikes and other gear there? I assume there's
someone watching it for us?

Message: Your number will be on your bike and volunteers watch the transition area.
