Message: I just finished volunteering for a local triathlon. Most of the time I am competitor. I want to say thank you to most of you who are GREAT competitors and kind to the volunteers. And to the very small percentage of you who are jerks - it is because of you that I wish USAT could impose a requirement for EVERYONE to get a USAT license they must volunteer once during the year. Then maybe you would get it. A woman today at the water stop was the rudest I have ever seen - and the guy who threw his profile water bottle out on the road, too bad for him there wasn't an official around. Shame, shame people. This was a little race, no prize money, nothing. You bad sports - take a lesson from professionals like Michael Lovato. Thanks the volunteers, don't scream at them. Its hot out there for everyone.

Message: I AGREE WITH YOU 100%. AT THIS YEAR'S OCCC SUPER SPRINT A MALE TRIATHLETE CAME ACROSS THE FINISH LINE YELLING THAT THERE WAS ONLY WATER AN YELLING AT VLOUNTEERS THAT THERE WAS NO REPLACEMENT DRINK!
THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS GUY HAS BEEN A DONKEY'S REAR! EVERYONE SHOULD VOLUNTEER AND EVERYONE SHOULD THANK THE RACE DIRECTORS AND THE VOLUNTEERS FOR PUTTING ON THESE RACES. WE DO NOT GET PAID FOR DOING THIS KIND OF WORK. YES, YOU ARE RIGHT IT IS HOT OUT THERE.

Message: BECKY, I WILL REPLY HERE, SINCE THE DONKEYS REAR YOU ARE REFERRING TO IS ME.
PERHAPS I WAS TOO VOCAL...MAYBE YOU DON'T LIKE ME OR MY ACTIONS...E-MAIL ME PERSONALLY IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO DICUSS, I WOULD BE GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU. RACE DIRECTORS HAVE REPONSIBILITIES TO THE ATHLETES(LIKE TURNING IN RESULTS TO THE REGIONAL AND NATIONAL OFFICES...YOU KNOW WHAT I AM REFERRING TO), AND A MAJOR ONE WOULD BE TO HAVE SOME LIQUID AVAILABLE AT THE FINISH LINE. THE OCC SUPERSPRINT HAS MAJOR PROBLEMS, NOT JUST THIS. NOTHING GOES PERFECT AT A RACE, NOT FOR ATHLETES OR THE RACE MANAGMENT....BUT NOT TO HAVE ANYTHING, EVEN WATER AVAILABLE IS NO SMALL OVERSIGHT.
I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU AS TO OTHER TIMES I HAVE BEEN A DONKEYS REAR.

Message: Chris,
I agree with you about races some are run well and some are not. Why not just talk to the race director rather than yelling at the volunteers. They usually have very little to do with setting things up many simply come out on race day. You write in here asking the person who brought your name up to talk to you about it, and yet you seem to have yelled at everyone who would listen instead of going straight to the source and talking to them.

Message: THIS SEEMS TO BE A CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY HERE....BECKY WAS NOT REFERRING TO ME, IT TURNS OUT. I E-MAILED HER DIRECTLY, AND SHE INDICATED THAT I WAS NOT THE CULPRIT, IT TURNS OUT. NOT HAVING ANY LIQUID AVAILABLE AT THE FINISH LINE IS NO SMALL OVERSIGHT. AND I DID NOT DIRECT ANYTHING AT EITHER VOLUNTEERS OR RACE DIRECTORS, BUT I DID LOUDLY REFER TO THIS OVERSIGHT TO TWO FRIENDS WHO WERE SPECTATORS. I MAKE IT A POLICY TO ALWAYS THANK AND COMPLIMENT THOSE WHO TAKE THE TIME TO PROVIDE VENUES TO RACE.

Message: I agree with Chris. I think water should be offered at the line, not 600 meters away.
