Message: Yeah, a few years ago, it seemed spot on and we were out of the water in about 9:15 or so--about right for a 1/2 mile. The next year Chris Eschback set the course record of 1:07 somthing, and we were out of the water in about 7:00--definintely not 1/2 mile.
This year, in their defense, the wind kicked the bouys around quite a bit, but it was definitely longer than 1/2 mile.

Message: Someone said after the race that they did anounce that the swim was 100 meters long. I don't know if it's true, but they said they announced it after/during the swim.
