Subject: RE: HPHouston Marathon IP: Logged
Message: I see both sides of the issue also. I chose to give up marathons when I could no longer do them at what I consider a reasonable pace. I do applaud people who get off the couch and get out to get some exercise and are motivated by entering a marathon. I also understand the increased cost of keeping courses open so long as well as the ire raised in the community when people can't get to their destinations for 6 or 7 hours instead of five.
But IF I EVER did a marathon in over 5 hours, I would not claim to have RUN a marathon.
