Subject: Motorola Marathon IP: Logged
Message: The more I do other races, the more I realize how good we have it here in Houston. $80 registration, crappy expo, busses to the start line were late, race is not well spectated/supported, you run next to cones & cars, NO FINISHERS T-SHIRT (unless you wore the sponsors shoes).
Houston, you are a class, no, several classes above your neighbor to the West.

Message: It is my understanding that Motorola is pulling sponsorship after this year. Sounds like they my have backed out a little earlier than expected!

Message: Motorola isn't exactly leaving the marathon high and dry. A spinoff company will be the new sponsor -- it was announced during race weekend. Essentially, it's a name change only,.

Message: My observation has to do with the "nearly 11,000" marathon runners as stated in their press release. However, when you add up the official finishers:
4,900 (marathon) + 2,914 (half) + 339 (5K), you get 8,153! Guess they're using Enron type arithmatic :)
