Subject: long or short wetsuit? IP: Logged
Message: Can anyone advise me on the pros/cons of sleeveless vs longsleeved wetsuits? Thus far I have only done short tris in very warm lakes, this august I'll be doing a half-iron distance in Lake Michigan (very cold...) Any comments would help!

Message: If you'll be doing much cold water swimming, go with the full. It'll keep you warmer and full suits are generally considered faster because of less drag. I initially bought a full suit but found that it caused too much stress on my injured shoulder. Sent it back and went with the sleeveless, which works great in the SE Texas area. Plus, no shoulder pain. If you live or swim in much cold water, the full is probably the way to go, otherwise a sleeveless would be my choice, plus its less expensive. Go to wetsuit.com. They sell good wetsuits reasonably priced, but mostly there's some good info on suits in general. Hope this helps.

Message: Can't really advise you on the sleeveless vrs nonsleeveless. But I have noticed that people on this site seem to only recommend wetsuit.com. Somebody from Lukes locker recommended it to me. Wetsuit.com would be a good place to start but then I would shop around. Any search engine should bring up many hits for buying wetsuits. I bought my wetsuit form all3sports.com.
