Subject: My First Tri and Not My First Tri IP: Logged
Message: To anyone planning on doing my first tri in Galveston. I strongly urge you to contact the race director Brent Kamenka and confirm the date of the event, the facilities being used, the course, the race directors knowledge of the course as well as what support he has organized for this event before you register. I almost did one of his triathlons in British Columbia last summer and would be happy to share my experience with you. You may also contact British Columbia Athletics at 604-737-3170 for some history on this race director. B.C. Athletics will no longer sanction any of his races and it looks as though he has decided to move south. I would hate to see any 'first timers' be left with a bad impression of triathlons or race directors in our area.

Message: I believe My Firt Tri and Not My First Tri is a race in San Antonio and there is nothing wrong with that race or the race director and it is USAT sanctioned.

Message: Thanks for that info. I didn't know that there was also my first tri in San Antonio. Please don't confuse this one with any 'my first tri's organized by Brent Kamenka

Message: how can anyone charge $69 early entry for a sprint tri that is not USAT sanctioned, does not matter when or if you finish and seems to be unorganized? i hope anyone considerding this race ( sic) will think twice.

Message: The early fee for this race is $79, not $69. Regular fee is $89. Pricey.

Message: My First Tri in San Antonio (Boerne)in May is MUCH less than the this one. The $79 is crazy. Team Alamo charges less than almost any other triathlon on the schedule. Why? To get individuals into the sport of triathlon. They also give you a t-shirt, finishers medal, and whatever else.
