Everyone kept telling me that I had never seen anything like it before and now I know what they meant. I never realized what I had missed in my life until Saturday. Never had I received a big bag that was filled with goodies, then eaten good-tasting food (and so much of it) the night before, then run for 10 hours in the woods and the swamp, then eaten junk throughout the whole time (thanks to those "angels", aka volunteers, who not only stuck it out but were so friendly), then to cross the finish line and pick up a jacket (or afgan), and then on top of all that to have eaten again like I was in a restaurant (thank goodness nice shoes were not mandatory).
