The 2002 Hi-Tec Adventure Racing Series, the National Championship series of sprint adventure racing, has announced its dates and locations. The Series begins the 2002 season in New York and will travel to Detroit, MI, Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, Sacramento, CA, Hartford, CT, Richmond, VA with the series final in Los Angeles, CA. Exploding in popularity across the country, the Hi-Tec Adventure Racing SeriesO is a series of eight races in which teams are presented with mental and physical challenges designed to test their ability to work together. Teams of three are challenged to complete 5-8 miles of trail running, 10-15 miles of mountain biking, 1-3 miles of kayaking and 8-10 mystery special tests. Each race is different in format so competitors have no knowledge of the course setup or surprise tests prior to the event.

"The Hi-Tec Adventure Racing Series is largely popular because teams are challenged to use physical strength as well as their creativity, communication and teamwork to complete the race," said Danelle Ballengee of Team Hi-Tec. "It also offers divisions for everyone ranging from Coed Elite, Coed, Female, Male, Corporate and Masters."

The Hi-Tec Adventure Racing Series is appreciated by elite adventure racers as well as the local weekend warriors. The Series offers something for everyone with spectator special tests and the Hi-Tec Adventure for Kids, a race for children under 10.
