Jenny Marine (Naperville, Ill.), a resident triathlete at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., won the women's race Sunday at the St. Kitts International Triathlon and led a U.S. sweep of the podium.

Marine completed the Olympic distance race (1.5K swim, 40K bike, 10K run) over a very hilly course in 2 hours, 34 minutes, 26 seconds. Nicole DeBoom (Lyons, Colo.) placed second in 2:35:03 and Jessi Stensland (San Diego, Calif.), who won the St. Kitts race last year, was third in 2:37:50.

Marine came out of the behind many of the leaders, but caught up on the bike and had the best run time of the day of 40:08, 1:25 faster than the next fastest, to win her first International Triathlon Union (ITU) points race.

Oliver Marceau of France won the men's race in 2:09:10. Dominic Gillen (New Preston, Conn.), another resident athlete, was the top U.S. finisher in eighth. Brent Perdrizet (New Fairfield, Conn.), also a resident athlete, placed 10th.

Jennifer Gutierrez (Littleton, Colo.), a 2000 Olympian, was the top U.S. finisher at the Puerto Vallarta International Triathlon on Sunday in Mexico. Gutierrez placed fourth behind race winner Sandra Soldan of Brazil, who completed the Olympic distance race in 2 hours, 15 minutes, 34 seconds. Gillian Moody and Carolyn Murray of Canada finished second and third respectively.

Kelly Rea (Marietta, Ga.) placed 10th in the women's race.

Paul Tichelaar of Canada won the men's race in 2:01:26. Jeff Sneed (La Canada, Calif.) was the top U.S. men's finisher at 12th (2:05:40). Christoph O'Donnell (Cambridge, Mass.) was 13th.
