Message: I'll go one step farther- I have no problem with TRIPPLE dipping. There are several VERY good masters runners in my area. If one of them takes 1st overall, 1st master, and 1st in 40-44, then he should get three trophies.

Message: how about this for compromise, lets say a race has money for first over-all and money for the first masters in addition to trophies. Lets also say that a masters runner wins the whole race. Would it be elitist of me to say "give both checks to the winner and give the trophy to the next guy." or does the masters runner have to choose whether they want the overall check or the masters check. Also what about age-grading and where it falls in all of this? i.e.. the idea that the 40 yr. old must run x amount of tie faster than the 50 yr. old in order to be teh top masters runner???

Message: Then your argument should have been that I was childish not elitest. You seem to have a brain it just takes you awhile to figure out how to engage it.
I'm still pretty sure you don't know enough yet.

Message: That’s cute! Only one of us was trying to win an argument. The one who did so using argumentative and demeaning pharses. I was just expressing a different opinion. Winning a triathlon and getting both of your plaques obviously means a great deal to you! So Good Luck, and feel free to hawkeye the board and pounce on anybody who happens to have a different opinion, calling their views “silly”. But don’t bother replying to me as I won’t be returning to this tread.

Message: Zepp,
Its very unlikely with chip timing that you will get a tie. Even with hand timing a decision is made as to who finished in what order. Usually a picture can be used to decide if needed. If the race is based on some sort of combine of points or time, then whoever placed higher in the different events is given the higher overall ranking.
Nice pics! ;)

You have seemed to take these awards (double Decker) to another level. Was it you I saw in the World Championships the other day?
I may have it all wrong also. But you are not very far away from crazy!
In addition to that ... I was thinking that since these races here in Houston are so bad ... why don't they just ad some more award categories like stumped toe or cracked nail for fat azzzzesss.... And extend official finishing times for the Houston marathon to 11 hours. That WAY EVERYONE CAN GET AN AWARD EVEN the WATER STOPS Volunteers!!!
