Free mountain bike clinic this weekend

Want to improve your skills riding your bike? Beginning to
advanced skills is taught depending on your ability. Whether
it's a trip to the mountains, having more fun while riding with
friends, wanting to race, improving your racing skills . . .
come join Maureen "Mo" Monaghan and get personal individual
attention. Improve your skills quickly.She'll host a mountain bike clinic this Sunday, February 24 from
noon to 2:00 p.m. at Rowlett Creek Park. The clinic is free,

Maureen "Mo" Monaghan moved to the U.S. from her native
Ireland in 1985, at the age of 18. She began her racing career
during a one-year trip to Europe in 1989 continuing when she
returned to the United States.
Mo started as a road racer. Based on her strength and endurance,
Mo was encouraged to try mountain bike racing, which she began
in 1992.
After success in her first few races, Mo hung up her road bike
for an off-road racing career, becoming Texas Champion in 1993.
She was also Texas Cyclocross Champion that year.
After conquering Texas, Mo moved to national events in 1994.
While the caliber of competition-increased multi-fold, Mo's
results remained strong against nationally ranked riders: 8th
overall in standings in the 1994 National series.
She has trained with and served as an assistant coach working
under 10-time U.S. National Champion cyclist Mary Jane "Miji"
Reoch (Reoch died in a training accident in 1993). Mo is also a
cycling coach for the Tom Landry Sport Medicine Center of Baylor
University Center in Dallas. A popular coach, Mo works with
cyclists of all abilities and has been active in promoting the
sports as well as volunteering for cycling-related causes.
Pro Mountain Biker Racer, and Adventure racer Mo has 15 years
experience of riding and racing. USCF Expert Level Coach,
Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), Certified First Aid and CPR.
Currently competing in Adventure Racing all over the world.
Competed in Eco-Challenge 2000 and 2002.
