This past weekend, the Lockheed Martin cycling team faced a terrible tragedy. On our usual Saturday morning ride, one of our members, Dana Guillory, had what led to be a fatal accident. Dana, Mike Schlei's fiancee (our team captain), and friend to all the team members, died at UTMB after being struck unconscious by a van after veering into traffic from a bike collision in a panic stop situation.

This occurred while traveling back up Highway 3, just north of 96, after cutting our ride short due to oncoming rain in the distance. It seemed like a series of unavoidable events that took her life so quickly from us.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Mike, his family, and the family of Dana for their loss.
