Complete Four State Triathlon resultsAfter being forced to cancel the 2001 Four States Triathlon,
race promoters were anxious to get this race back on schedule.
And that they did. The four States Triathlon went off without a
hitch and left many seasoned and first-time triathletes feeling
good about the day's event.
The rain stopped before the race started and nothing was left
but cool air and eager triathletes. At 8:00 a.m. the 6th Annual
Four States Triathlon was underway.
Marcelo Silva jumped out to an early lead and never looked
back. Mike McHaffey and Chris Petrancosta gave chase. They
completed the event in that order.
Amy Daily-Johnson captured first place in the women's division.
The real race was between 2nd and 3rd, Jennifer El-Sherif and
Rachel Barth finished 12 seconds apart.
Over 100 triathletes entered the water that morning. Several
first time racers can now call themselves "triathletes."
Congratulations!
