The Seven Hills Running Club of Huntsville has announced
cancellation of the Huntsville Half Marathon for 2001. However,
the 3rd Annual Huntsville 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday,
October 6, 2001. Marvin Dittfurth, club president, said that the plan is to
schedule the 24th edition of the half marathon in 2002, but not
on the first Saturday of October due to heavy vehicle traffic
created by the huge Fair on the Square in Huntsville. After the race, join the tens of thousands of people at the Fair
on the Square, with over 300 booths, art and crafts, continuous
entertainment, food, beer garden, live bands, special children's
area, antique stores and FREE ADMISSION. Also visit the Texas
Prison Museum, Hearts Museum, Sam Houston Grave, Sam Houston
Museum, and the giant Statue of Sam Houston. The Seven Hills Running Club wishes to thank those runners who
faithfully particpated in this race year after year. For more
