A new addition to the sixth annual Lake Tahoe Marathon, scheduled for October 14, 2001, is a three-day stage ultra marathon race. The three-day event will take place on October 12-14, 2001.

Participants in the three-day event will complete the entire 72- mile circumference of Lake Tahoe over the three days, with an additional six mile overlap.

The Friday and Saturday runs will begin at sunrise while the final day of the event will have the runners participating with the regular Lake Tahoe Marathon. Each of the three runs will be timed and added together for overall results.
