Paula Newby-Fraser heads the list of elite/pro athletes who are set to compete in this weekend's Buffalo Springs Lake Triathlon.

Newby-Fraser, an 8-time Ironman champion, will challenge herself over the half-Ironman distance of 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run. The Buffalo Springs Lake Triathlon will be held on Sunday, June 29 in Lubbock, Texas. The race has often been called the best preparation for Kona, since the course and conditions closely mirror what athletes will face at Ironman Hawaii.
