The Houston Texans announced recently that they will hold their
first annual Running of the Bulls 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
on Saturday, April 20, at 8:30 a.m.
The race, presented by Methodist Health Care System, will end at
Reliant Astrodome, leading into the Texans Draft Day Party at
the same location. The Draft Day Party will include interactive
games, live bands, prize giveaways and appearances by TORO and
the Houston Texans Cheerleaders.
"Our first annual Running of the Bulls will be a terrific
introduction to our inaugural draft day festivities and will
become an important Texans tradition for many years to come,"
senior vice president Jamey Rootes says. "This is an historic
day for our franchise and we want to celebrate it with our
fans."
Proceeds from the Running of the Bulls event will benefit a
charity to be determined. Participants can click here to
register. Pre-race registration is $18 and on-site registration
will be $22. Registration for participants under 18 is $16.
"We are delighted to team up with the Texans for an event the
whole family can enjoy," says Erin Skelley, marketing director
for Methodist Health Care System. "This year's event should be
even more memorable with the Texans holding the first overall
draft selection."
