USA Triathlon has announced the schedule for the 2004 USAT Duathlon Grand Prix Series Presented by Tri-Zone. There will be 20 events in 2004, followed by the championship race at the Great Buckeye Challenge on Aug. 22, in Waynesville, Ohio.
Series winners get gift certificates to Tri-Zone. Athletes must finish at least two races to be eligible for awards. The best three scores will be used for scoring.

USA Triathlon Hosts Duathlon Boot Camp
Ultrafit coach Eric Schwartz and MarkAllenOline.com coach Luis Vargas have teamed with USA Triathlon to present a world-class camp for duathletes, July 14-18 in Boulder, Colo. Boulder is the home to top endurance athletes in all sports, and camp organizers will do their best to expose campers to some of the best running and cycling routes in Boulder.
Mark Allen - a six-time winner of Ironman Hawaii and a Powerman Zofingen champion - is the featured speaker. Mark created MarkAllenOnline.com coaching software along with Luis Vargas.
The camp cost is $395 and subject to increase after April 1.

Duathlon World Qualifying Events
USA Triathlon has announced the four events that will serve as qualifiers for the 2004 International Triathlon Union (ITU) Duathlon Short Course World Championship, May 28-30 in Geel, Belgium.
The four races are:
Corralitos Duathlon (March 20; Aptos, Calif.), www.bythebeachproductions.com, four slots available per age group; slots roll down to eighth place.
Powerman Alabama (March 28; Birmingham, Ala.) www.team-magic.com, six slots; roll down to 12th place.
Virginia Duathlon (April 4; Virginia Beach, Va.) www.virginiaduathlon.org, four slots; roll down to eighth place.
Caesar Creek Duathlon (April 10; Waynesville, Ohio) www.hfpracing.com, four slots; roll down to eighth place.
The junior and under-23 world-championship qualifying event will be the Whistlestop Duathlon, held in conjunction with Powerman Alabama on March 28.
The 2004 ITU Duathlon Long Course World Championships are scheduled to be held July 31-Aug. 1 in Denmark. The remaining events to be used as qualifiers are:
