i don't get it. doesn't rtn give the region space in the magazine to communicate with us? seems like that's a pretty good place to keep us up to date. i read my rtn cover to cover. if the region said something in there, i'd definitely know about it.

any word yet on the rankings?
I hope all of the board is booted out this year. all board members should be spending there nighttime and weekends getting these rankings done. They obviously need the help.

Most other regions don't have as extensive of a rankings program as the South Mid West Region. Individual race series' may have rankings, but I don't believe that very many regions have a relatively all inclusive ranking system.

If you jump from the USAT main regional site to that of the different regions, you WILL find that each region does indeed rank within it. This according to the USAT rules, is a function of that regions board, and is common to all regions.

For those of you following this ongoing saga of erroneous and missing rankings and results, I recieved an email from Ed Whitcombe last night advising me that the re-finalized, revised, and absurdly late rankings will be finished this weekend. One can only postulate as to how long it will be before we recieve them. If we are lucky it will be prior to the awards banquet......

Sorry Lance, it was not my intent to infer that you were unwilling to post the rankings promptly, it was more of a sarcastic(justifiably so) but accurate post to inform others that care, that Ed had indicated to me that the final(for the 2nd time) rankings would be finished this weekend. If you felt that I had pointed to you as responsible in any way, I apologize.
If, on the other hand, you sense that I feel that this has taken entirely too long and was a mistake from the beginning of the year, you would be correct.

Just to let everyone know. I received the corrected USAT/SMW rankings this morning.
I have some other race results to post, and some articles to edit for the February issue, but I will get them posted as soon as possible. Certainly before I go out of town on Wednesday (heck, I want to see where I ranked, too!).
