The biggest problem with chip timing is the attitude some race directors take toward it. They seem to think that it takes all the work out of tabulating results. I don't know about anyone else, but I've seen more results get screwed up with chip timing than any other system. That's probably because of RD's thinking the chip will do their job for them.
